Piano Trio No. 1 is an amalgamation of 4 stand alone and musically varied movements for Violin, Cello, and Piano. Meant to create a multi-style hybrid sort of collection these movements traverse a gamut from traditional themes that devolve into timbrel clouds such as in the first movement “Andante con Moto”, to a dramatic conflict of characters in the second movement “Recitative”. The third, “Largo Espressivo” is a subtle and dreamingly simplistic serialist section, while the “Finale” movement juxtaposes it with rhythmically energized and intense, high velocity departure.
